FAQ

Clear answers about what Essetly does and how family information is handled.

Questions people ask first.

The essentials, without the fine print.

01

What is Essetly?

Essetly is a private workspace for life's essential information, including records, assets, liabilities, insurance, reminders, contacts and family access.

02

Is Essetly only for finances?

No. Financial information can be useful, but Essetly is broader than finances. It is for practical information a family may need when something has to be found quickly.

03

Who owns the information I add?

You retain ownership of the information you add to Essetly. Essetly uses it to provide the service and the features you choose to use.

04

Who can access my information?

Only you and the people you choose to share with. Family members, beneficiaries and advisors do not automatically get access to everything.

05

Can Essetly employees access customer information?

Essetly support does not need routine access for normal use. If you contact support, only share sensitive content when it is needed to handle the request.

06

How does Essetly organise information?

Essetly can help identify useful information and suggest updates. You decide what gets saved as part of your records.

07

Does Essetly automatically save suggested updates?

Some document metadata may be captured to help organise files. Meaningful changes should be reviewed by you before they become part of your records.

08

How does email import work?

Email import is optional. You choose what Essetly should look for and can bring information in from uploads, email or manual entry.

09

Can email access be disconnected?

You can disconnect email access in Essetly where available, and you may also need to remove Essetly access in your email provider account settings.

10

Can I export my data?

You can request an export of your account information by contacting Essetly. Export options may depend on the type of information and current product capabilities.

11

Can I delete my account?

You can request account deletion by contacting Essetly. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security or operational reasons.

12

What happens after deletion?

Deletion requests are handled through support. Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security or operational reasons.

13

Does Essetly provide legal, financial, tax, insurance or accounting advice?

No. Essetly helps organise information and access. It does not replace lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, tax advisers, insurance professionals or other qualified advisers.

14

What happens if the account owner is unavailable or dies?

People only receive access to information that has been shared with them. Essetly does not automatically give family members or beneficiaries access to everything.

15

How does permission-based family access work?

The account owner chooses what to share and who can access it. Access can be limited, changed or removed by the account owner.

16

Is Essetly available now?

Essetly is currently in early access. You can join the waitlist from the landing page.
