We collect information needed to provide the service, keep your account secure, process information you choose to add and support the features you use.
What Essetly is for
Essetly helps people organise life's essential information, including documents, insurance details, assets, liabilities, reminders, contacts and family access.
Ownership
You retain ownership of the information you add to Essetly. Essetly uses that information to provide the service and the features you choose to use.
Information you provide
This may include your name, email address, account details, uploaded files, document metadata, insurance details, asset and liability information, reminders, contacts and sharing settings.
When you upload a document
When you upload a file, Essetly stores the file or document record and may read available content or metadata to identify useful details such as dates, references, document type and possible next steps.
Documents and imported information
If you upload files or use email import, Essetly may process file names, document content, extracted metadata, dates, references and related information so the product can help organise your records.
Email import
Email import is optional. You choose what Essetly should look for. Essetly uses the permissions you grant to find and import relevant document information based on your selected filters. You can disconnect email access in Essetly where available, and you may also need to remove Essetly access in your email provider account settings.
Suggested updates
Essetly can help identify useful information and suggest updates, such as document types, dates, references and possible next steps. You decide what gets saved as part of your records.
Sharing
You control who can access information. Family members, beneficiaries or advisors only receive access to information you choose to share.
How we use information
We use information to provide the product, organise your records, show reminders, support sharing, improve reliability, prevent misuse and respond to support requests.
Service providers
Essetly may use specialist service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, document processing and suggested updates. Providers are used to operate the service.
Processing locations
Depending on provider infrastructure, information may be processed or stored outside your country. We do not claim that all information is stored in one country.
No sale of personal information
Essetly does not sell personal information. We use information to operate the service and support the features you choose to use.
Export and deletion
You can request an export of your account information or request account deletion by contacting us. Some records may need to be retained where required for legal, security or operational reasons.
